Elon Musk Founder of Tesla Interesting Facts

Elon Musk is a South African born Canadian businessman and entrepreneur. He is the founder/co-founder of Tesla, Solar City, SpaceX, and Paypal.

In 2008 Tesla and SpaceX were hours away from bankruptcy until Elon secured 20 million dollars from investors. Two days later SpaceX won a 1.6 billion dollar contract with NASA.

A lot of experts including Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak have signed an open letter urging a ban globally on AI weapon systems.

Elon Musk and SpaceX wants to send American families to Mars by 2025.

Elon Musk dropped out of Stanford college after two days and started the company Zip2 that he sold four years later for 207 million dollars.

China ignores patents and that is why Elon does not patent SpaceX technology as China is their only competition.

Elon Musk created an exclusive school for his 5 children and 15 other children from selected SpaceX employees. The school does not have a traditional grade structure and is headquartered in a mansion in California.

Musk was removed as CEO of Paypal as he was insisting on switching to Windows based infrastructure from their traditional Unix-based infrastructure.

Elon went to America originally by showing up at a relative’s house in Canada unannounced. He did odd jobs like cleaning boilers that required a hazmat suit until he could afford to go to college.

Elon’s motivation to build SpaceX was so that he can die on Mars one day.

Musk paid for his accommodation during college by host big nightclub parties and charging entry fees.

Musk has five kids where two of the five are twins and the other three are triplets.

Musk took a 78 million dollars pay cut on his Tesla salary and returned everything and kept only 1 dollar.

Elon created a basic video game he called Blastar and sold it for 500 dollars when he was 12 years old in 1984.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX shot a cheese wheel into space as a nod to Monty Python’s Cheese Shop Sketch.

In 2011 Elon visited Soma City in Japan and donated a solar power project valued at 250 000 dollars to the city.
